At the back end of last year we were speaking to our clients and mentioning the fact that Microsoft are changing their Microsoft 365 pricing. This affects everybody no matter if you buy direct with Microsoft or via a reseller such as ourselves.
We are starting to get a bit more information around this and what it means to us and more importantly to you as a end user of Microsoft. Unfortunately, Microsoft (even at this late date back in Feb) has still yet to confirm official pricing. We have worked out a rough percentage increase figure, based off the USD MSRP price Microsoft gave in their announcement which we have used as a guide.
Timeline
- 1st March 2022 – Price Increase on 6 x M365 products – Microsoft 365 Business Basic (+20%), Microsoft 365 Business Premium (+10%), Office 365 E1 (+25%), Office 365 E3 (+15%), Office 365 E5 (+9%) & Microsoft 365 E3 (+13%). Microsoft’s blog includes the dollar pricing, we will not see the GBP pricing until nearer the time. New pricing for Microsoft 365 – Microsoft 365 Blog. Note if you are currently subscribed to this product we have identified this and tried to give you an approximate increase cost, we have done this based on the last 3 months bills. If you don’t do anything on these products you will loose the ability to retain the current pricing
- 30th June 2022 – Fusion must convert you to annual pricing and an annual commitment for any Microsoft 365 subscriptions. If we do not do this and you stay on monthly licensing your current costs will increase by 20%. If we do nothing
We recommend you take your last 3 months bills and averaged out the numbers, the options are;
1) Do nothing and prices will increase by 20%, the items on the 1st March will actually increase by 40%
2) Commit to a minimum spend for 12 months based on our averages or your own. This will keep the pricing as current levels, but obviously tie you into a 12 month contract for that minimum spend. Any overage will need to be tied into that contract or will be billed at the increased rates broadly around the rates already mentioned, its imperative that you try and predict your license count. Fusion will be committing to this with our suppliers and will be liable for that commitment, we are passing that contractual obligation onto you also.
We held our clients hands during this period and they have benefited, if you haven’t entered into a 12 month contract then speak to us today or your costs will increase significantly. The next deadline is the 30th June, 2022!
