Entering Stop Codes
Stop codes are a way to identify text to be kept or deleted in a document. This allows for a precedent to contain multiple options and allows the user to select the correct text to be inserted. Alternatively they can be used to prompt users to enter their own text in a specific position.
Paragraph Stop Codes

If creating a new precedent from word ensure you save as a precedent first before adding stop codes.
- Select the Current Document Tab this ensures you have access to all necessary icons
- Place the cursor where you wish the paragraph text to be inserted
- Enter an opening square bracket [
- Type the first text entry
- Enter a closing square bracket ]
- Repeat the steps for each text entry
Text Entry Stop Codes
