What issue were you initially experiencing?
In 2017 a requirement was identified by the business to procure and implement a new ‘matter management system’ within the organisation. After identifying ‘MatterSphere’ as our chosen application, Thomson Reuters (TRE) recommended Fusion to us as their lead support organisation for MatterSphere development & implementation.
What made you decide to use Fusion to assist?
An initial decision was made to engage with Fusion based on TRE’s recommendation and further case studies reviewed. After an initial kick off meeting with Fusion and subsequent discussions, the decision was made that Fusion would be the right fit for our requirements. From the outset we knew that our development requirements would be very different to the ‘off the shelf’ provision of MatterSphere being purchased, therefore it was important that we identified a supplier that could not only support our needs but also use their experience to direct us where required.
How did Fusion help you overcome the issue?
Fusion were able to provide clear case study examples of where they had led ‘bespoke’ development within other organisations, which in turn put us at ease with regards to being able to develop and implement what would be required. Their approach to supporting our projects was clearly defined, from developing our internal developer’s skills when working with MatterSphere, through to supporting all internal development workshops. This approach suited our business very well as we knew we would need to leverage Fusion’s extensive experience as they would be the lead developers for each project. Not only did this approach ensure the right development approach was adopted, it also allowed our programme team (project managers & business analysts) to develop their own knowledge of MatterSphere development and configuration, in order to lead moving forward.
How did you find Fusion’s approach to the handling of the issue?
During the requirements gathering stage and definition of development requirements, Fusion were very hands on which was invaluable to us throughout each project. Alongside this we were able to work with the Fusion development team to identify a clear process in terms of capturing and documenting requirements from the beginning and this is still In use 5 years on. Fusion’s approach to supporting requirement gathering, development and project delivery takes a very side-by-side approach which they are happy to reduce or increase depending on the project requirements. This meant that as an organisation we were able to work closely with Fusion to develop our MatterSphere knowledge and understanding.
Did Fusion meet your expectations when delivering the required solution?
Our internal MatterSphere Programme has been running for 5 years now and we will continue to launch new projects whilst developing and refining our existing processes built within MatterSphere. Throughout the programme Fusion have worked with us to develop a streamlined approach, enabling the programme team to deliver change to a high standard.
Would you use Fusion again or recommend them to others?
We continue to work with Fusion on all of our MatterSphere related work and Fusion remain our first port of call for advice and guidance. Our journey with Fusion has been very positive and we would have no hesitation in recommending them as a supplier to any other organisation.
