Attention all Outlook for Android Users!
If you’re an Outlook for Android user, it’s important to be aware that starting from July 10, 2023, you’ll need to have Android 9.0 or above to continue using the app. Microsoft recently announced that they will no longer be supporting Android 8.x or older versions of Android.
For those using older versions of Android, you will not be able to update to newer versions of Outlook for Android. This means that if you’re using an Android version that is below 9.0, you’ll need to upgrade your operating system before July 10, 2023, in order to continue using Outlook for Android.
This change may have an impact on organizations that have users running older versions of Android. To ensure that all users in your organisation continue to have access to Outlook for Android, it’s important to make sure that they upgrade their operating system to Android 9.0 or above.
To help ensure a smooth transition, Microsoft has provided advance notice of the change. This gives users and organisations ample time to prepare for the upcoming shift.
If you’re an IT admin, you may have received a notification about this change. However, if you’re not an IT admin, you may want to check with your administrator to make sure your email address is removed from Microsoft 365 message center preferences if you don’t want to receive further notifications.
In summary, if you’re an Outlook for Android user, make sure to check the Android version of your phone and ensure that it’s at least 9.0 or above before July 10, 2023. This will help ensure that you continue to have access to Outlook for Android.
Thanks
