Formatting tables involves anything from changing the size of columns and rows to applying shading and borders to cells.
After a table has been created, the Table Tools toolbar will be displayed automatically whenever you select the table.
When formatting a table, remember to select the row, column or cell that you want to format before clicking the formatting option.
If you prefer you can also right click a table and select Table Properties – the Borders and Shading option can be found on the Table tab.
To adjust the row height or column width – position the mouse over the border that you want to change, the mouse shape should change to a crosshair shape. Click and drag to change the width or height.
Tip: Make sure you don’t have a cell selected before you adjust the height or width or you will only change the one selected cell.
