Windows 10 was released on 29th July as a free upgrade to anyone with a qualifying device. While the free upgrade has now ended, you can still upgrade your device. We explain why you should upgrade to the new version plus things to consider when doing so.
You can downgrade
One of the first questions clients may have is how easily can you downgrade your system back to your old one if you’re not happy with it. Microsoft have made this very easy and it only requires a few clicks to revert to your previous version. This feature will also ensure all your date and apps still stay on your computer.
Cortana
Cortana, an intelligent assistant, can now be found on both Windows phones, laptops and PCs. With Windows 10, you can now control elements of your PC through your voice. Here you can make web queries, schedule appointments in your calendar, create notes or even get directions.
No Microsoft account
With previous Microsoft updates, it was mandatory to use a Windows log in when signing in to different accounts. With the new update, you can create accounts using whatever email address is suitable.
New features
A handy new feature on Windows 10 is the Virtual Desktops. This feature allows you to create multiple workspaces on your PC and switch between each screen. You can also use the new Snap Assist feature so that the workspaces take up one half of the screen, or even one quarter.
It is important to check with your IT support provider, such as Fusion IT that your computer’s software and hardware will still work on a new version. To find out more information or to enquire about Windows 10, please contact us.
