If you use the drawing objects in Word or PowerPoint for example you’ve probably noticed that you only have the option to choose a rectangle or an oval but what do you do if you want to draw a square or circle. Select the rectangle or oval and hold down the SHIFT key whilst drawing the shape – you should notice that the shape is either a square or circle. All you need to do now is decide how big you want the shape to be – don’t let go of the SHIFT key until you get the right size otherwise you’ll end up with a rectangle or oval instead. If you want to resize the shape you also need to hold down the SHIFT key or you’ll end up turning it back into a rectangle or oval again.
