Last week saw Fusion hosting our very own Superhero Challenge Day to raise money for our partner charity, the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust.
As part of the day our staff, who are unassuming IT support staff by day, lived out their childhood (and admittedly, probably adulthood) fantasies and became Superheroes for the evening! Costumes ranged from characters from the Marvel and DC world and beyond, and there were certainly some unexpected choices in the mix. One of the more obscure choices came from our Operations Director Jim, or should we say Banana Man (a nickname we’re unsure he’ll be able to shake off in our office for a while now). As well as a diverse range of outfit choices, there was also a great range in the age of the Superheroes at the event – the youngest being Managing Director Jamie’s 6-week old son, Wilfred. Although Wilfred is unable to walk just yet, he did a pretty good job of looking ready to take flight in his super small superman costume!
However, the Fusion team weren’t present merely to look the part, we had very serious video game business to attend to! Our staff unveiled the true extent of our geekiness by battling it out with our guests on Mariokart, Tekken, FIFA and Tiny Tower, amongst others. Whilst we were tested to our limits at a few points – we feel that overall our geeks reigned supreme in the very important world of video game challenges – although we may be somewhat biased!
We had a great evening playing superheroes, and now it’s time to return to our roles being superheroes of a different kind… the kind who save and protect your business from IT super villains whenever they may occur! Thanks to everyone who came along and supported us, in total we managed to raise an amazing £233 for the Laura Crane Trust. This is a charity we are passionate about helping, and although days like these are a lot of fun, the most rewarding part of it all is being able to help such a great cause. We look forward to keeping you updated on more fundraising events in the future!
There is still time to donate if you haven’t already, donate here.
