Everyone is so busy these days so when I come across something that might save a bit of time I’m always keen to take a further look. I’ve been using the Quick Access toolbar for a while now and find that accessing all my favourite commands in one place a real help and definitely a time saver. Why not try adding the MatterSphere commands you use regularly to it and see what you think (don’t forget you can also add Office commands as well)!!
What is the Quick Access toolbar?
The Quick Access toolbar is a customisable toolbar that contains a set of commands that are completely independent from the currently selected ribbon.
Why should I use the Quick Access toolbar?
If you use some of the MatterSphere commands regularly you can add them to the Quick Access toolbar so they’re easily accessible (Office 2007 and later). This means that you can find all your favourite commands in one place rather than on separate ribbons.
How do I add commands to the Quick Access toolbar?
To add icons to the toolbar, right click an icon on any of the ribbons and select Add to Quick Access Toolbar. The following instructions explain how to add the Change User Settings icon to the toolbar.
- Click the Matter Centre ribbon.
- Right click the Change User Settings icon
- Choose Add to Quick Access toolbar
Moving the Quick Access toolbar
The Quick Access toolbar is normally positioned in the top left corner of the screen above the ribbons.
If you want to add a large number of icons to the toolbar it might be better to position it below the ribbon, if you leave it in its original position you will only see a limited number of icons unless you click the down arrow on the right of the toolbar. To move the toolbar, click the down arrow on the right hand side and select Show Below the Ribbon.
