Our very own Sharon Brook tackled her fear of heights head-on – and raised hundreds of pounds for charity in the process.
She took on the world’s fastest and Europe’s longest zip line in aid of Overgate Hospice.
Sharon commented: “It was an amazing experience! When you were at the top looking down it was a lot higher than expected and the end seemed miles away. My heart was racing slightly while I was suspended from the wire, laying horizontal waiting for what seemed like hours to actually go. Then all I could hear was 1…2….3…..Aaaarrrrrggghh. Speeds between 70 – 130 miles per hour but at points it actually felt like you weren’t moving at all.
So was it worth it – YES. Would I do it again – YES I would Overgate is such a wonderful charity I wouldn’t hesitate to throw myself off that mountain again.
