The Office for National Statistics (ONS) annual survey of internet habits has highlighted that emailing is the most common internet activity in Britain, despite the continued rise of social media.
The survey reports that 82% of adults use the web most often for email.
Finding information on goods and services came second, at 71%, followed by social networking at 66%.
And we are all using the internet on our mobile devices more as that continues to rise, according to the ONS.
Using the internet more for everyday activities from reading online news (which has tripled since 2007), to managing your finances via internet banking was found to have increased from 30% to 63% in the last decade, to shopping online (which was static at 77%, with sports goods and clothes still the most common purchases)….could we live without the internet?
