Our very own managing director Jamie Watson successfully completed the London Marathon, running in aid of The Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust and Tommy’s.
He has raised £2,290 (including Gift Aid) for these two charities that are very close to his heart and family and friends.
Jamie commented: “I managed to get around in 3hrs 42mins. It was much harder than my previous marathon attempts, but with people’s donations in mind (along with a handful of jelly babies) it kept me going, especially through the last 10 miles.”
Event director Hugh Brasher said the 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon as “the greatest ever” in the history of the race and saw more people than ever before make the 26-mile journey from Greenwich to Westminster.
Among the record 39,487 finishers was Mary Keitany, who set two new world best marks as she ran a solo race to win her third London Marathon women’s title, and Britain’s David Weir, whose wheelchair win made him the most successful athlete in the event’s 37-year history.
