So one of our clients had a need to use a large touch screen to view plans. The solution was a Iiyama Prolite TH4664MIS and a Dell 3020 Micro PC. All started well we rebuilt with Windows 8.1 to make the most of the touch interface, got the kit out onsite, it didn’t pickup the touch screen correctly. Doing some research seemed to point at OEM version of Windows not really liking touch screens, we rebuilt with a volume license 8.1, still same issue.
In the end it came down to the USB ports on the Dell 3020M not been powerful enough to run the screen, a simple powered USB hub solved all our issues.
Despite the issues, the client is now very happy with what they can achieve using the screen and it has revolutionised the way they view plans.
