Managing Contact Details
Addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses are stored against all the different elements of MatterSphere. Each Contact can have many different addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses recorded against them and you can choose which one is stored as the default address.
On the Contact Details screen the details displayed will be used as the default details when adding a Contact to a client or as an Associate on a Matter. The address that is displayed on this screen is referred to as the current address.
To add different contact details for a Contact, click the Add link next to the Contact Current Address field.
The Add wizard will allow you to choose what type of address you’re adding e.g. Home, Word etc. Each of these address fields can then be selected against the Client or Associate record.
Each Client has a default address which will usually be the Contact’s current address – the current address is the address displaying on the Contact Details screen for the selected Contact. This address could be any of the stored addresses for that Contact.
When a Contact is associated with a Matter, the current address (the one recorded on the Contact Details screen) will be the one showing on the Associates tab, the Address Location field will show which address has been used.
