We have now successfully integrated a traditional telephone system with a VoIP interface which means that all of the additional benefits of VoIP are now available to people who are considering the leap to VoIP but are still a little hesitant.
The way it works is simple and works on analogue, ISDN 2 circuits and ISDN30. The interface is a cut down version of the full VoIP system and, depending on the kind of lines you use 2 cards are added to the system to facilitate analogue, ISDN 2 or ISDN 30. The reason we put 2 cards in is that we bridge between the input source and then out to the traditional telephone system.
In a non configured mode the interface will simply pass calls to the PBX and then out again when someone makes a call, almost as if it wasn’t there.
It starts to get interesting when you add rules into the interface configuration. So, for example you might want mobile numbers to go out over a SIP trunk on the system. Or if you have a link to another VoIP system then you might route DDI numbers over the internet so the calls become free from charge. This is particularly beneficial to organisations that have more than one branch office. Imagine if all calls between sites didn’t cost a penny.
Other benefits include the ability to have conference calls, SIP trunks, call recording, site to site links, automated voice menus, call data records plus many, many more.
The interface is based on the highly successful Sark PBX and can be fully supported by Fusion IT Management with high level third line support from Aelintra Telecom who developed the product. ;
