iPhone 4 – The next best thing or Apple’s biggest embarrassment?

I have always associated Apple with making great looking and easy to use devices, as always Apple put physical design at the top of the agenda and this is certainly the case with the new iPhone! But with the iPhone 4 have they gone one step too far and put design ahead of functionality, whilst no firm would do this intentionally, just maybe they actually got carried away with making the device look beautiful and forgot about basics such as good reception? I today read a quote from Nokia the world’s largest mobile phone manufacturer, which was released after Steve Job’s damage limitation speech and certainly sums it up in my opinion; “As you would expect from a company focused on connecting people, we prioritize antenna performance over physical design if they are ever in conflict.” So where do people go from here? I personally was contemplating upgrading to the new Jesus phone, but I think I will put it on hold until Apple have got their act together and fully got to the bottom of this problem as I am sure they will!
