The internet connections were migrated to a reliable ISP and the firewalls were re configured to prioritise certain types of traffic.

All the infected PC’s were rebuilt and future virus threats were eliminated by installing a server-based anti-virus program.

The communications room was re-wired and a new cabinet was installed, so any future improvements will be quick and easy.

We configured Outlook Web Access and Windows Mobile Devices, so employees could access their emails from anywhere.

All incoming mail is now routed through our anti-Spam filters, so the TC Fluid Control server isn’t clogged up by unwanted mail.

When all PC’s were rebuilt, we insured they only had the software they needed installed. This increased the speed of the machines. We also took this opportunity to introduce a network-wide rights access policy that controlled what each user could or could not access.

A Microsoft 2003 Small Business Server with Exchange 2003 was installed. So all PCs are now connected to a network and each has email facilities. The Internet connection was also switched to an ADSL line, so employees can make the most of the new email and Internet facilities.

A shared filing system was set up on the server, so employees could pool their resources. Controlled access rights were given to sensitive files and folders to ensure only approved employees had access.

The network was rebuilt with standardised software and hardware, so everyone can access the files they need. All new equipment is now sourced from one supplier to ensure they have no further problems in the future.

A backup system was installed and is regularly monitored by Fusion to ensure Spacekraft’s data is always secure.

The new Microsoft business Server included a fax client. This is now used alongside a new analogue modem, so employees can send and receive faxes from their desktop.

A terminal server was installed, so select employees could work from home.

The network was reviewed and user-friendly documentation was created for the use of Spacekraft employees. Our support contract then commenced, giving employees all the help they needed.

Cost-effective upgrades were made to some of the machines, while others were rebuilt to make them more effective. This improved the overall speed and performance of the entire network.

This gave employees the flexibility to complete every job from any computer on the network. Although A.D.D. Express had been told it was impossible to get broadband in their area, Fusion worked tirelessly alongside AAISP to make it possible. Once installed, the Internet was faster and cheaper than before.

The application used to upload data onto the external file was switched onto the new broadband line, saving both time and money.

An effective anti-virus program was installed to combat the virus problems and protect the company against further threats. The program was run through the server, so all PCs on the network benefited from the new protection – leaving the Financial Director to concentrate on more important work.

Access to the network was restricted, so that only authorised personal could access secured documents and files. From this point onwards, only Fusion would be able to upload or install software to the network. This increased the security of the network significantly.

The network was reconfigured for maximum security and a firewall was introduced to protect against external attacks.

The backup system was also reconfigured. It now effectively backs up the Maro Development system and emails daily reports to Fusion detailing what has been backed up and how long it has taken, allowing us to keep on top of the situation.

A Microsoft Exchange server was set up to process their emails and this included a backup system.

The network was given a complete overhaul. Fusion recommended Ramsdens Solicitors replace their multi-domain server with a single-domain Microsoft Windows 2000 Server and Exchange 2000. New servers were installed in key locations and existing servers capable of fulfilling company requirements were upgraded and rebuilt. Hardware support was put in place to ensure they were protected if ever a server should fail. All workstations were upgraded from Windows 9x to Window XP and failing PCs were replaced with new ones.

Internet connections were upgraded to an ADSL line. This is much faster than their original ISDN line and it’s estimated that it has saved them £10,000 in dialup costs.

Their virus software was upgraded and installed across the entire network. E-policy Orchestrator was installed, so virus updates were managed centrally and reports given regularly.

Passwords were introduced to give access to the network. This was part of a security policy that Fusion helped Ramdens Solicitors to create. It is now an important part of the company handbook.

Backup systems were installed across the entire network and a new strategy was introduced which ensured backups were stored off-site, in fireproof safes.

All offices were connected with a Cisco VPN and a Cisco PIX firewall was installed to protect the WAN security.

Working alongside key heads of department at Ramsdens Solicitors and the 3rd party case management company, Fusion successfully stabilised and bedded in the case management system. Once that was done, we helped to ensure that staff were able to use it to its full potential.

After considering a range of law accounting programs, we made our recommendation and helped to implement the new accounts system, ensuring that it was fully integrated with the case management system.
