Anyone that you need to communicate with in relation to a Matter is stored as an Associate. Associates usually already exist in the system as Contacts who are then linked to Matters in a particular format e.g. Estate Agent. One Contact may be linked to more than one Matter in different formats for example they may be linked to one Matter as a Lender and another as an Account Holder.
To add an Associate, search for and open the Matter and then click the Add icon at the top of the Associate screen.
You will now be able to search for an existing Contact. If you find the Contact you’re looking for click the Next button at the bottom of the page. Complete the Associate Heading field and then select how this Associate should be linked to the Matter e.g. Estate Agent from the Associated Format drop down.
If you didn’t find the Contact when searching you will need to click the Add Contact button and create the Contact in Contact Manager before you can link it to a Matter.
